Lynne Cheney, wife of former Vice President Dick Cheney, believes it's no accident that Monica Lewinsky is back in the headlines, almost 20 years after her White House affair with President Bill Clinton.
"I really wonder if this isn't an effort on the Clintons' part to get that story out of the way. Would Vanity Fair publish anything about Monica Lewinsky that Hillary Clinton didn't want in Vanity Fair?" Mrs. Cheney said Tuesday during an appearance on Fox News's O'Reilly Factor.
Cheney noted that the magazine article on Lewinsky -- titled "Shame and Survival" -- comes as Hillary Clinton is gearing up for a presidential run: "Getting it out of the way so we can say one more time it's old news seems to me like a strategy or a tactic, perhaps."
